My Cause, My Cleats

In Week 15 in the National Football League, players will showcase their passions and their feet in a community campaign. Through the “My Cause My Cleats” campaign, which the league started in 2016, players can wear cleats designed to represent a cause of their choice. Typically, players are only allowed to wear custom-painted cleats during pregame warm-ups. They then switch to uniform footwear for the game. But in Week 15, flashy cleats in vibrant colors, featuring unique illustrations and messages, are the norm. Athletes all across the NFL, from every position group, commission the hottest designers in the sneaker game to create the perfect pair of cleats for their cause. This last year, around 1,000 players reportedly took part in the initiative, and after games ended, selected cleats were auctioned with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting different causes.

MENTOR Colorado is thrilled to announce that a member of the Broncos team has decided to support youth mentoring with a My Cause My Cleats mentoring shoe. These shoes will be designed by 10 young people in mentoring programs with the support of local artists across the state of Colorado. From the different young people’s designs, one design for his shoe will be worn during the My Cause My Cleats NFL Game.
